CAD guide

Adrenaline's CAD runs dispatch, units, records and civilian tools for your roleplay server, all from the browser. This guide covers setting it up and using it day to day.

Quick start

Add Adrenaline to your server, open the CAD, pick your server, then set up departments, teams and permissions. You can dispatch as soon as a department exists.

Getting started

  1. Add Adrenaline to your Discord server from the homepage.
  2. Open the CAD at adrenalinebot.xyz/cad and sign in with Discord.
  3. Link your Roblox account with the Roblox button at the top of the site. You sign in on Roblox's own page; after that the CAD tracks your unit on the live map automatically.
  4. Pick your server from the server menu at the top. You'll only see servers you manage that have Adrenaline installed.
  5. The first time, open Administration and work through the setup sections below, starting with Permissions.

Departments

Departments are your agencies, such as a police department, sheriff's office, or fire and EMS. Each has its own callsign prefix and colour, so units are easy to tell apart on the board and the map.

  1. From the CAD home, open Departments.
  2. Create a department for each agency, and choose its type: law, fire, EMS, civilian or other.
  3. Set a callsign prefix (for example 1A-) and a colour.

Teams

Teams decide which pages each group of people sees. Adrenaline starts you with four: Dispatch, Fire, Law Enforcement and Civilian. The Civilian team, for example, sees the tip line and My Characters, but not law-enforcement record search.

Edit teams under Administration → Permissions → Team groups, choosing the pages each one can open. When someone first opens the CAD, they pick the team they're working as.

Permissions

Permissions decide what each person is allowed to do. Link your Discord roles to a CAD level under Administration → Permissions. From most to least access: Until you map roles, only server admins can use the staff tools; everyone else can only use the civilian side.

LevelTypical use
AdministratorFull control of the CAD and its setup.
CommandLeadership: manage the penal code and department settings.
SupervisorOversee units and calls.
DispatcherCreate and manage calls, merge and split calls, unit groups, the tone board.
OfficerGo on duty, respond to calls, use the MDT and file records.
Fire / EMSFire and medical units.
CivilianCharacters, vehicles and emergency calls.

If you haven't linked any roles yet, the CAD stays open to everyone who can use the dashboard, so linking roles is how you lock it down.

Penal code

Add your server's charges under Records → Charges: a code, a name, a category and a severity. Charges are grouped into acts (for example the Criminal Code or the Motor Vehicle Act). Command and above can reorder acts and the charges within them with the arrows, move a charge to another act, and rename acts. Everyone can look the penal code up, grouped by act, in the Information panel of the actions menu.

Licence demerit points

Open a person's record and choose the Licence tab. Officers add points with a reason. When a licence reaches your server's limit (12 by default; server admins can change it from the same tab) it is suspended automatically. Supervisors can remove points with a reason; removed points stay in the history. If removals bring someone back under the limit, a suspension caused by demerit points is lifted and the previous status comes back. A suspension an officer set by hand is never changed.

Going on duty

  1. Open the CAD and choose your team: Dispatch, Police, Fire, EMS, DOT, Civilian or any team your server has set up.
  2. In the Unit Manager, pick one of your units (up to five) or Add unit with your callsign, badge number and department, then select it to go on duty. It is linked to your Discord account.
  3. Set your status from the top bar as you work: Available, En Route, On Scene, Busy and so on, each with its 10-code. Dispatch sees every change the moment you make it.
  4. If you're staff (you can moderate members), going on duty also starts your staff shift automatically.
  5. When you go off duty, Adrenaline DMs you a shift summary: time on duty, calls, arrests and citations.

The rail on the left takes you to Home, the map, calls, search, records and more; on a phone the same pages sit in the bar at the bottom. Fire, EMS and DOT only see the tools that apply to them.

If you're in trouble, press the round red Panic button in the top bar. Everyone is alerted, and your unit shows as in distress until the alert is handled.

Dispatching

The Dispatch page is the board: calls on the left, the map and BOLOs in the middle, and units on the right.

Calls

Priorities and statuses

Colour always means the same thing, and it's always paired with a word: red for high priority and emergencies, amber for medium priority and On Scene, blue for low priority and En Route, and green for Available.

Dispatcher tools

These need the Dispatcher level or higher.

Merging and splitting calls

In the Command Center, open a call and enter another call's number, such as #1042, to merge it in. Its units move across, its notes are copied over tagged [MERGED from #1042], and it closes. Split does the opposite, creating a new call from an existing one.

Unit groups

From the Actions menu, open Unit groups to group on-duty units, such as a tactical team. You can then set the whole group's status, or attach the whole group to a call, in one step. A unit can only be in one group at a time.

Tone board

From the Actions menu, open the Tone board to send an alert tone to everyone, one department, or one unit, with an optional message. Only the units you target hear it. Use Preview to hear a tone yourself before sending it.

Signal mode

Signal mode, such as Signal 100, puts the whole server on alert until it's cleared.

MDT and records

Civilians

Civilians create their own characters and register vehicles under My Characters, and can report emergencies to dispatch. Officers see these when they run a lookup.

Actions menu

The Actions button at the top of the CAD (the header on a phone) opens:

Live ER:LC

Connect your ER:LC server key under Dashboard → ER:LC. Within 20 seconds the CAD shows ER:LC Connected at the top, and:

ER:LC doesn't share bodycam video, radio audio or licences, so the CAD doesn't pretend to. Everything shown comes from the game.

The map

Scroll to zoom and drag to move. The toolbar searches for a unit or call, turns layers on and off (units, calls, BOLOs, pursuits, players, heat map), shows only emergencies, and filters by department. Follow on map in a unit's details keeps it centred as it moves.

Each team sees its own people: police see police units and players, fire and EMS see the fire team, DOT sees DOT, and dispatch sees everyone. Units move live with their owner's linked Roblox account (or an in-game callsign that matches the CAD unit). The map is PRC's official ER:LC map, updated automatically when PRC publishes a new one, with the fall, winter, spring and summer versions shown in their season.

Discord and phone

Use /cad in Discord without opening the website. Replies are only visible to you.

CommandWhat it does
/cad runplateCAD records, BOLOs and the live in-game vehicle (officers).
/cad lookupPerson records and active warrants (officers).
/cad statusSet your unit's status; type a name or 10-code.
/cad 911Report an emergency to dispatch (anyone).
/cad unitsWho's on duty right now.

On a phone, open Actions → App & notifications to install the CAD as an app and get panic, assignment and BOLO notifications, even with the CAD closed. On iPhone, add it to your home screen first (iOS 16.4 or later).

ER:LC moderation

Open ERLC — Server & Moderation on the dashboard. Moderators need Discord's Moderate Members permission; settings are for server admins.

Record a punishment from inside the game

Staff can type :log PlayerName reason (or :log PlayerName kick reason, ban, note) in game. Adrenaline records it and PMs you to confirm. It only records; do the in-game action yourself.

For members: the portal

Members apply to forms and read documents at adrenalinebot.xyz/portal, signing in with Discord. Communities that choose to be listed appear at adrenalinebot.xyz/servers.

Link your Roblox account

Press the Roblox button at the top of the website and sign in on Roblox's own page, then approve Adrenaline. That's all: your account stays linked until you unlink it, your CAD units are tracked on the live map, and staff tools can match you in game. You can switch account or unlink from the same button.

Sessions

/session start and /session end run a session, and /session poll votes: posts a vote in the session channel: when enough people say they'll join, the session starts automatically. When a session ends, the session channel is cleared except the shutdown message, the session panel and pinned messages (you can turn this off in Dashboard → ERLC → Sessions). Adrenaline needs Manage Messages in that channel.

Department Discord servers

Each department can link its own Discord server from the Departments page. Press Sync on the linked server to copy bans (on by default) and kicks from your main server to the department server, and to pair roles: having a main-server role gives the paired department role, and losing it removes it.

Weekly staff digest

/digest channel posts a summary every Monday: staff hours and the most active staff, punishments by type, CAD calls and priorities. /digest preview shows this week's now.
